Giuseppe Piazzi (1907–1963) was an Italian bishop who led the Diocese of Crema and then the Diocese of Bergamo.[1]
Born in Casalbuttano he was ordined priest in 1932 for the Diocese of Cremona and from 1942 to 1950 he was a pastor in the parish of Saint'Ilario in Cremona, where he was arrested for brief time by the authorities of Italian Social Republic for his support to the partisan.[2] In 1950 pope Pius XII named him bishop of Crema and he 1953 he was appointed bishop of Bergamo.During his tenure as bishop of Bergamo he decided to renovate the diocesan seminary and he started the fraternal reletionship between his diocese and the whole city of Cochabamba.[3] He died in Engelberg.
